About me

I am an evolutionary biologist broadly interested in understanding the processes by which species are formed and maintained. My research uses whole genome sequencing to look at evolution from multiple scales: from population genomics, to phylogenomics, to comparative genomics. I am particularly interested in understanding how reproductive barriers arise and spread in the genome, and how rare hybridization events can influence the evolutionary trajectory of a species. I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto in the lab of Jason Weir, where I study speciation genomics in a variety of non-model bird systems.
